All I can say is its a war zone out there for the younger kids and this just reminds me that I will be going through this in less than 10 yrs as my son is turning 10 this year.
It takes one tiny thing to screw their whole shit up, but it can always get better, these kinds of road blocks just create a new, more challenging path for them, best you can do is guide them to learn and grow and not spiral the opposite direction.
