I really didn't listen too much. But to be fair, finding a bunch of musicians who can handle SYMM songs (which are simple and blusey) with NO JAMMING shouldn't really be hard.
What Chris and Rich are asking for is the easiest assignment of the Crowes catalog.
Yesterday was the lowest moment of the Crowes' history. Shitting over the legacy (slagging on former members, "all the hits," no jamming) wrapped up in a well-coached RS interview that anyone can tell was 90% BS.
All for what? one last shake of whever is left in the piggy bank.
Can anyone even imagine how boring this thing is going to be after two-dozen runs through SYMM shows?
The lack of this thing being interesting is only going to bring Chris and Rich back to their natural state of being assholes. They'll play nice for awhile but boredom is probably lead to the wheels coming off at some point.
The band members will probably continue to disappear, be replaced, and disappear again (like teenagers in a horror movie). After one run through, the crowds will shrink again.
This is a run with a limited shelf life. They're not offering anything new. They're not laying the foundation to build anything.
Steve is right. This is just sad.
