It's not as though the Robinsons have given longtime fans much to smile about. The following are observations, not complaints:

- Rich broke up Magpie, considered by many/most to be the best Crowes-related project since Sweet Pickle Salad.

- Chris and Rich have apparently reformed "The Black Crowes" with no former members other than themselves. “L'État, c'est moi.” One could also frame this as Chris and Rich renting the "Black Crowes" name to Live Nation for a summer (and beyond?) tour that seems to look like a cashing in on the name and not much more.

- The recent BoaF shows have accomplished a rarity in the band's history: more or less the same setlist night after night. I'm not thinking this is something to celebrate.

I think one reason people are complaining is because there's so much possibility with this band, but somehow in the past number of years (your mileage may vary), the principals of the band have failed to deliver on even a modicum of that potential.

I find it dispiriting, to say the least. I don't begrudge anyone for enjoying it if that's what they are into, but it's probably not what most fans who have logins for this board are looking for.

: "Repeated complaining rewires your brain to make future complaining more likely. Over time you find it easier to be negative than to be positive, regardless to what's happening around you. Complaining becomes your default behavior, which changes how people perceive you." Dr. Travis Bradberry

: By the way....how's the band you founded and wrote hit songs for doing? roadsong
