I really wish I hadn't. I'll admit that I'm a Ford snob but I went to see them often during the Oddley years, too. Never saw them with Luther, though I liked the albums they did, liked the shows I downloaded from that era, etc.
I thought Jackie did all right on lead. I wasn't crazy about the setlist early on (Movin, Wounded Bird, Cypress Tree). A Conspiracy sounded a bit rough - I think they were having sound issues. But then they did Ballad > Wiser. The segue between was a bit weird, but ok. But that abortion they dropped in the middle of Wiser about made me cry. How in the FUCK do any of those think what Zombie Linda McCartney is doing on those keyboards sounds any better than a drunk cat jumping around on the keys. Steve honestly thinks that guy is the best musician ever in the band? Bull fucking shit, Gorman. Then it turned into a Guitar Center jam between Jackie and Rich and whatever. If I wasn't having a good time hanging out with some pals, I'd have left. A LOT of people left from the lawn area long before the show was over (it was fucking freezing in Indy last night).
Chris has entered the Mick Jagger/Robert Plant "OK, enough with all of the cutesy moves" phase of his career.
I think it's come to the point with what I think it cool musically is so far off what Chris and Rich think is cool.
At least Tedeschi Trucks was awesome.
